Here is what we've been learning this week...
Literacy: We are moving on to stories and story making. This week our focus was on reviewing parts of a story. We read the story "The Cool Bean" and identified the characters, setting, problem and solution that were in the story. Our next word wizards words are: around, about, point, watch, second, year, important, plant, first, which. We will practice these words for two weeks.
Math: This week, students compared fraction using a number line, and practiced our understanding of fractions through centres. We will be having our SWYK on fractions, Monday. Then we will be moving on to Time.
Science: We started a new unit- Living Systems. Ask your child what a food chain is, and what the three different consumers are!
Social Studies: Grade three's completed a midpoint check-in about what they have learned on Natural Resources in Alberta. Next week, we will be diving into government systems.
Buddies: Grade three's got to play a math game with their kindergarten buddy this week.
Physical Eduction: This week was Drum Fit and everyone had a blast!
Health and Wellness: Our focus with health this week was, ages, stages and personal traits!
