Thank you for everyone sending back the forms. If you still have not sent in a pair of corded, over the ears head phones, there is still time. Thank you to those who have, practicing our 'listening to reading station' was very successful.

Please have conversations with your students about what our class Golden Rules are. We have had multiple conversations about what being respectful and considerate to others looks like and sounds like. Thank you for your support!

Here is what we have been up to this week!!

Literacy: Our focus this week was reviewing digraphs and trigraphs (i.e., wh, sh, th, ch, ck, ph, nk, ng, thr, tch, dge, shr). We practiced our literacy stations, such as writing only writing (W.O.W), loose parts, words work and listening to reading. Ask your child what we did for each station!

Math: We are learning numbers up to 100 000! We practiced representing numbers with symbols and expanded form. We also practiced math centres. Please continue practicing recognizing and writing numbers to 100 000 at home!

Science: Our Curious Why has shown its self. Grade 3's sparked their wonder by writing all their questions. Some questions were, "How much blood do humans have in their body?", "How was the Earth made?", "Who was the first human being in the world?".

Social Studies: Grade 3's learned about all the aspects of the Medicine wheel. We also made personal connections to each section- the heart, the mind, the body, and the spirit.

Physical Education: This week students practiced throwing and hand eye coordination skills by playing various levels of a Garbage toss and the mustache game.

Visual Art: We created "All About Me Sculptures" and celebrated how we are all unique but still connected through our similarities.

Field Study: We held our first Sharing Circle.
