- Dress for the weather: As the colder weather is approaching, please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. We could be taking our learning outside at anytime through the week

Here is what we were learning this week...
Literacy: Our focus this was part of speech to bring detail to our writing. We reviewed nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. Soon, we will be learning about affixes (ie., prefixes and suffixes). We had our first "Fancy Friday", we practiced cursive writing.
Math: We learned about counting bills and rounding numbers to the nearest ten and hundred. Grade 3's wrapped up our place value unit. When we return from our break, we will be starting addition, subtraction, and statistics.
Science: Ask your child, "What are properties of a solid, liquid and gas?"
Social Studies: We familiarized ourselves with the provinces and territories of Canada, and began to explore the 6 different regions within Alberta.
Visual Art: Look at our beautiful poppies!
Physical Education: Grade 3's have been learning how to play handball!
