Please see a letter sent home today about a wonderful activity happening in our classroom on June 11th in the afternoon. We are requiring up to 5 parent volunteers. Let me know if you are available and would love to join!  

Here is what we have been learning this week. 

Literacy: This week grade 3's were combining science with literacy. We started a writing project where they will be creating a "Diary of a _____" book. This will show their understanding of story structure and living systems. Students completed research on a plant or animal of their choice to support their stories, and created to plan. Next week they will begin to write their book! 

Math: The focus of math this week was solving for a missing side of a shape when you are given a perimeter.  

Science: Grade 3's started to learn about how Indigenous peoples interact with the land, plants, and animals through the seasons spring and summer. They worked together in their groups to add their understanding to their poster. 

Health: We are continuing to learn about healthy eating. Our focus this week was why we eat a variety of foods and the difference between whole foods and processed foods. 

Physical Education: We started to learn and practice volleyball!
