Here is what we have been learning this week.
Literacy: This week the grade 3's learned how to write a haiku- Japanese style poem that focuses on nature. After we wrote our haiku's, we celebrated with a Poetry Slam reading. There are new words for the Words Wizards next week followed by their spelling challenge on Friday. Our new words are...night, come, again, show, came, mountain, every, high, while, don't.
Math: We started a new math unit- fractions. Our focus on learning was equal parts, identifying and naming fractions, and representing fractions.
Social Studies: Ask your child what a renewable and nonrenewable resource is, and where in Alberta you can find these resources!
Visual Art: Spring has spring? To manifest spring weather, students created spring art inspired by the Indigenous artist Norval Morrisseau. We are still working on them, but here is a sneak peek.
