Here is what we have been learning this week...
Language Arts: this week we reviewed trigraph and vowel teams! We also made a mini "Little People, Big Dreams" book for Terry Fox.
Math: Grade 3's practiced representing the value of a digit with in a number through expanded form.
Science: Our first unit for science is Matter! We were introduced to matter through a science experiment involving Skittles. Ask your child about the Skittles experiment! Please note, no Skittles were consumed during this experiment.
Social Studies: Students enjoyed sharing with each other the different ways we say hello.
Health &Wellness: Using our self portraits students created last week, we made connections to our brain and the different ways we learn. During your visit on Meet the Teacher night your child can tell you all the different ways they learn through their art.
Music: Grade 3's learned about the Canadian national anthem.
Visual Art: We celebrated Dot Day by creating pumpkins that were inspired by the visual artist, Yayoi Kusama.
Terry Fox Run: Lucky us, we got to run the Terry Fox run twice! Once with all the grade 3's and another time with our kindergarten buddies. Thank you for all of your generous donations for cancer research!
