Here is what we have learning...

* This week, I have observed and/or incidences have been brought to my attention about student's using unkind words and calling each other names. Together as a class we talked about this, but it would be appreciated if conversations about being kind and communicating feelings instead of name calling is discussed at home as well. Thank you. 

Language Arts: This week we have been reviewing digraphs and practicing spelling rules. Grade 3's also have been practicing different literacy stations, such as word work, listening to reading, and loose parts!

Math: Grade 3's jumped right into our first unit- Place Value. We will be learning numbers up 1, 000, 000. This week we explored the place value system, chart and regrouping. Everyone really enjoyed playing race to 1 000. 

Science: We read the book "The Curious Why" to spark some questions and wonders about anything and everything. 

Social Studies: This week we learned about the Medicine Wheel and the connections we can make to the Medicine Wheel.  

Field Study: Sometime we take our learning outside! Today with Ms. Qi's class we went outside and built our names with natural materials.

Music: Ms. Muma and myself will be teaching music together this year. This week, we introduced the music learning space and reviewed music expectations. We also had fun by playing a listening game with music tempos and read a book. 

Visual Art: Grade 3's drew a self portrait!
