Here is what we have been learning and doing this week!

Literacy: Grade 3's have been getting back into the routine with writing! Student's wrote a letter to me telling me about their summer, and they wrote a letter to "math". These were both connected to two stories, "How I spent my summer vacation" and "Dear Math".  They also explored our classroom library and have been very interested in to our read to self routine. 

Math: Student's have been playing different math games that involve addition, subtraction and number recognition. 

Community Building: We have participated in a few games and activities to build and grow our classroom community! We discussed how our classroom is like a Jenga tower, our words and how we say things matter. Students worked together to make the most magnificent team by building a bridge, and played a fun cup stacking challenge. Communication, being kind and working together is our we keep our class family tower together.  

Visual Art: Grade 3's created a cover for their visual journals and listed all the things they are smart at! 

Health & Wellness: Students listened to the story "Alma's Worry Stone" and made connections to the characters for the emotions they often feel. Afterward, we discussed the ways we like to calm our bodies and made worry stones to help our bodies and mind.
